What's in it for you?
eBay is a great marketplace whether you're a big business, small start-up or just a private seller selling the occasional item you no longer have use for. Millions of transactions are completed every day on ebay earning the sellers tens of millions of pounds. As a seller you'll know there are certain steps you can take to improve the number and quality of bids you receive on an item. Accepting payment via PayPal, providing clear information and plenty of photographs, clearly stating your refund policy and a fair shipping charge are all useful tools to help seal the deal with prospective buyers.
Offer cost-effective delivery options on Large, Heavy & bulky items
What do you currently do when you're selling an item that is too big to post? If you choose the "local pickup only" option you are severely limiting your buyer base. However, its not fun being inundated with requests for delivery prices potential bidders just to find out that afterwards they're not really interested. Traditionally it hasn't been cost or time effective to offer a courier service for these bulky items due to the wide variety of potential delivery locations across the UK as well as the time required to find and compare couriers and delivery companies. Boxby solves both these problems by allowing you to put the finding and chosing of the collection and delivery in the hands of your buyer.
Refer your buyers to boxby-couriers.co.uk
By referring your potential buyers to boxby-couriers.co.uk on bulky items you put them in control of the process: they can bid effectively, keeping control of costs. In return you open your market to the whole of the UK rather than just your local area, thus increasing the numbers of bidders for your items and driving the price up.
It's the perfect solution for ebay sellers, sell to a UK wide market instead of local, by making it easy for your bidders and buyers to get the best courier prices possible.
Avoid unfair negative ebay feedback by letting customers choose their own delivery company
All ebay sellers know that the seller can be rated unfairly during the feedback process on delivery charges, and ebay has introduced its own paypal postage system with the Royal Mail to solve the problem for the smaller purchases.
But what about the larger items, how can you as a seller protect yourself against unfair negative feedback for delivery charges? Particularly when maybe new ebay users have unrealistic expectations of what a courier delivery is likely to cost.
Boxby-couriers is the solution for this, because it lets customers themselves get the quotes before and during the bidding process. The couriers quote straight to the bidder, not through you, therefore you as a seller have no involvement in the pricing of delivery. Boxby-couriers even works so that the customer pays the courier direct, so you don't even need to collect the price of the delivery and pay the courier. The customer receives the quotes, the customer choses which courie,r and the customer pays the courier. The only payment you need take about is simply collecting the final sales price (which will help your paypal fees too).
All you have to do is provide the customer with suitable times & dates for collection, and if you want to make it really easy for your ebay bidders you can even include this in your listing details.
